Gold was transforming the settlement of Denver, too. In fact, Englewood's history has always been tied closely to that of Denver. Today, Englewood has a population of 32,000 residents, and it offers a small town atmosphere with all the benefits of an adjacent city.

Englewood Business and Development

CityCenter Englewood is a national model for mixed-use transit-oriented development. Englewood Station (RTD’s light rail and bus transit hub) is an integral part of the CityCenter, drawing people from the broader metro area to this hub. Englewood, too, has become a hub for healthcare providers. Swedish Hospital is a Level 1 Trauma Center and Craig Hospital is rated one of the Top Ten Rehabilitation Hospitals in the United States. These two facilities have attracted a wide array of ancilliary medical services to the community.

With a light rail station in the heart of Englewood's City Center, the town is a magnet to people throughout the metropolitan region. In fact, Englewood boasts more jobs and businesses per square mile than any other city in the Rocky Mountain region.

Englewood has long offered an array of arts and entertainment amenities. The historic Gothic Theatre operates as a regional entertainment venue and the community welcomes public art displays and encourages music, theater, and dance performances at CityCenter Englewood. The city also places a heavy focus on education. The school district includes two high schools, two middle schools and five elementary schools.

Living and Working in Englewood
