Looking for Mid-Century Modern?

Virginia Village, a Denver real estate development located just east of Bonnie Brae, was annexed into the City of Denver during the construction boom of post-World War II.  It contains two of Denver’s largest Mid-Century Modernist neighborhoods, Krisana Park and  Lynwood.

A solid neighborhood of 1950’s ranch style homes, Virginia Village is enjoying a resurgence today.  It offers affordable homes, many updated with gourmet kitchens and luxurious baths, and the neighborhood lies in close proximity to Wash Park and the Cherry Creek shopping district.

Krisana Park and Lynwood Real Estate

Krisana Park is a collection of 175 homes tucked into the fabric of Virginia Village. Built by H.B. Wolff between 1954 and 1957, Wolff promoted his Denver real estate development as the first “properly planned” subdivision as he employed a builder, designer and landscape architect to ensure the neighborhood achieved the proper balance of exterior designs, colors and materials.  Prominent in the community is the “X-Ray House”, a design which offered three bedrooms, two bathrooms, an open kitchen design, a carport and a unique outdoor lanai.

H.B. Wolff also deigned Lynwood, a collection of 80 homes. Inspired by Joseph Eichler, the creator of “California Contemporary” design, it is similar to Krisana Park, with the addition of A-Frame designed homes.

Virginia Village includes Ash Grove Park and a small branch library as well as Whole Foods Market,  Barnes & Noble and many shops and restaurants.
