FHA Loans and Denver Real Estate
January, 2011 - Years ago, FHA was a home loan vehicle for people with poor credit. But times have changed, and FHA's market share has swollen from 3% in 2006 to more than 25% in 2010.
Eighty percent of the FHA mortgages went to first-time buyers drawn to the FHA's low-down payment requirements, starting at 3.5%. Conventional loans typically require at least 10% down in 2011, making the FHA down payment the preferred opportunity when buying Denver real estate.
