Broomfield Parks and Neighborhoods
The community of Broomfield, with over 50,000 residents, prides itself on its safe neighborhoods. It is known for it’s “Coffee with a Cop” program – you are welcome to join police officers in coffee shops all around town – which has resulted in one of the lowest crime rates in America.
In addition to safe neighborhoods, the City of Broomfield places tremendous focus on its Open Space and Trails system. It is actively acquiring land to create a comprehensive trail system connecting a variety of destinations. The city currently manages 63 parks with amenities ranging from playgrounds to tennis courts, baseball and soccer fields as well as park shelters.
At one time Broomfield was located in Jefferson, Boulder, Adams and Weld counties, which caused a little confusion. Broomfield formed its own county in 1998. Since that time, the government has worked to create an economic development zone that capitalizes on it's small-town environment while expanding opportunities for its highly educated work force.
